A TALE OF A BELOVED PET
By Cristina M. Tillberry
Once there was a frog with wings
I didn’t know what to say
I saw him when the stars came out
In the middle of the day
I named him Bob, he lived with me
Till he grew up big and strong
Then one day he flew away
Where did I go wrong?
I journeyed in search for my long lost friend
I traveled near and far
I walked and ran and soon came upon
A grand acoustic guitar
Night soon fell upon me
So I made a fire
I sang lots of songs and
Soon became tired
That night I dreamt of Bob
I wondered if he was in trouble
I wondered if he would come back alive
Or if he was chased by a bubble
The next day I woke up
And had many thoughts
But I traveled with a walk and
Then went to a trot
I was afraid for Bob
I hoped my baby would came back soon
I crossed over mountains
And over sand dunes
Bob was such a unique creature
In each and every way
I’ve loved him since he’s lived with me
Up till this very day
I walked and walked till
Everything filled my mind
Then I came across a leprechaun
What an interesting find
I asked him if he’d seen Bob
I wondered if he knew
He said that Bob had hopped along
Right to the ocean blue
How could Bob do this to me?
After all my love and care
Where are you Bob
Oh where, oh where, oh where?
Please come home Bob, my pet
Please come home to me
If you’d come home Bob
You’d fill my life with glee
So my search continued on
To find my beloved pet
But instead, I found
A useless fishing net
The sun started setting
Dusk would come soon
So I set up camp and
Played a jolly tune
I couldn’t wait to show the guitar to Bob
He would fall in love at first sight
Then I woke up from my sleep and
It was already light
I had hope that Bob would come back
That he would jump to me with joy
I knew I would see him today
And I brought his favorite toy
I was almost to the ocean
What a beautiful view!
And then I saw a lily pad
That’s a sign, I knew
I ran along the sandy beach yelling
“Bob, come here, my beloved friend and pet!”
Then I saw him in the water
I didn’t care if I got wet!
I ran to him or at least I tried and
Took him in my arms
For I had come such a long, long way
I traveled near and far
He looked so weak
All wrinkled and old
For he was dieing
That’s what I was told
I woke up that morning
With Bob by my side
I checked for a pulse
But Bob had died
I loved Bob and he loved me
For this tale is such a sad story

TOGETHER FOREVER
By Cristina M. Tillberry
Happiness has followed you
through the years
Arguments have come and gone
But nothing has torn you apart
Together you have been
Tied with love and excitement
You have traveled together
and lived together
In each others worlds and dreams
Not reading each others minds
but, Still knowing what’s going on
In each others life
Caring for each other
and Caring for us
Love has followed you
through the years
And it will bring you…
Together Forever

MOTHER'S DAY
By Cristina M. Tillberry
Mom,
You’ve taken care of me
All my life
Lying in the depths of
Stars
To me you are the mother load
Am I lucky or what to have you
Revolving around you like my sun
Melting me into dreams
Over hills and mountains
To me you are the mountain, the queen
Having you around is
Enchanting and I
Rely on you

FATHER'S DAY
By Cristina M. Tillberry
Dad,
Exquisite when it comes to a fancy
Lunch
Intelligent and outgoing
Getting better every day
Hangs around when you’re down in the dumps
Taunting me like a real
Father would do
Up, up, up like a cloud in the sky
Loving the sky’s shapes
Daring and brave
And how wonderful you are on
Days that are gloomy

I SIT ALONE
By Cristina M. Tillberry
I sit alone, I sit alone
Watching the sun set from the boardwalk
I feel the ocean breeze,
I hear the birds chirping
I sit alone watching, waiting, wondering
What will happen next?
Springing into the air,
I see a beautiful rainbow
Softer then a baby’s smile
I sit alone till the sun goes down
Over the ocean.

TRUST
by Cristina M. Tillberry
Would you trust me with something important?
Would you trust me with your secrets?
Would you trust me to catch you if you fall?
Or be there to stand up for you
When you are truly in need?
Could I trust you to help me
When I cannot get the right answer?
Will you help me with my problems
When I cannot solve them myself?
Would you trust me with your life?
Could I be able to trust you with mine?
Would you trust me?
I would trust you.

LONELY
By Cristina Tillberry
You were always there for me
You always made me smile
Now that you are gone, it’s lonely
I sit on my bed thinking of you, the way you always laughed
To think of what you would say if you were still here
And now I am lonely
I wish you were still here
I wish you were here again
And I know you can’t be, but,
I can’t help to just sit and mope around
It’s lonely without you
You were someone I could talk to
You nourished me and drove my thirst for learning
It’s really lonely
I miss you.

THE ONE
By Cristina M. Tillberry
You’re the one I cherish
the one I hold
You’re the one I’ve looked
up to all my life
You’re the one special
person who created me
You’re the one creation
I’ve lived with forever
You’re the one who cares
for me when I’m sick
You’re the one that warms
me when I’m cold
You’re the one that
fed me when I was young
And now you just can’t
let me down

WHY?
by Cristina M. Tillberry
Why is the grass green
or the sky blue?
Why do I live the life I
Do?
Why does the world have
jungles or deserts?
Why did the dinosaurs roam?
Why do animals exist?
Why is television in our
Life?
Why do we have war?
All these questions can be
Answered, but the world may
Never know.

RAINBOW
By Cristina M. Tillberry
The colors of the rainbow,
so pretty in the sky
are also on the faces
of people goin’ by
They’re in many hearts
and in many souls
But others are as dark
as a burrow of a mole
They’re all over the world
And if you haven’t seen em’
Then you’ve got a blue life

THE EAGLE AND EXPANSION
By Cristina M. Tillberry
He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands;
Ringed with the azure world he stands;
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls;
And like a thunderbolt he falls;
Zooming down on a windy day;
He always seems to know the way;
He is very broad so they say;
He grabs his prey from the shining sea;
So daring and brave as he can be;
We’ll share the fish just him and me;

BREAKFAST
By Cristina M. Tillberry
Everyday in the morning,
I wake up and smell something
But I don’t know what
It smells sweet with sugar
I hear the toaster pop
The sweet sound of sizzling bacon
Crack! The sound of egg shells
Yum!! The smell of coffee
with a lot of sugar and coffee
I smell sausage. It tastes good with syrup
The smell of French toast draws
me down to the table
I see plate of great breakfast
right in front of my face

ARBOR DAY
By Cristina M. Tillberry
The enormous trees are so green;
There is a huge tree that I have seen;
Yellow and red leaves there have been;
The flowers always look so good;
Pick those beauties, not you should;
To the bees and the butterflies, they are food;
The grass is always growing tall;
It is green to mostly all;
And in the winter it may fall;
We should all love Arbor Day;
In our own very special way;
“I love Arbor Day,” that’s what I would say;

SOCCER
by Cristina M. Tillberry
Who keeps kicking me?
OUCH!!!
The soccer ball sways Back and forth
Bouncing over lumps of
Grass and dirt
Round other players I go
Back and forth, Back and forth
Gee I feel dizzy
Then he kicks,
Jumping, Quickening, Flying,
And then, A pause,
Everyone takes a breath,
And when he blinks, I shoot it in!
And the crowd goes wild!!!

Snow, snow what a wonderful sight
Snow is cold and snow is white
Snow is a good playing place
Sometimes snow gets on your face

THUNDER STORMS
by Cristina M. Tillberry
Thunder storms always
Give me a fright
The sound of thunder
Reminds me of bowling
The lightning reminds me
Of a camera flash
Raindrops fall
After it stops, the
Smell of rain reminds
Me of camping in the
Forest
Thunder storms can do
good things

WEEPING WILLOW
By Cristina M. Tillberry
Water to live
Extremely beautiful
About 14 inches wide
Planted in eastern U.S
It needs sun and air
Native to China
Gives a lot of shade
Wind makes the leaves fly
It’s branches hang down
Love and care
Leaves are thin
Over 30 feet tall
When they grow big they look pretty
